As an artist and designer, I have passionately collected gems and minerals for most of my life, so it was natural for me to work with these materials in this medium. The color and texture of crystals, corals, shells, pearls and semi-precious gemstones intrigue me…it’s amazing the colors that Mother Nature has created!
Through my travels to over 35 countries and cultures from Ecuador to Bangladesh and all across the United States, I hand-select my beads and adornements and continually look for those special beads that make each one of my creations sparkle with that special touch. In each place, I seek artistic inspiration and the kind of background stories that make a Kristauphe Design so special and educational.
I love color and exploring nature in my designs, and I am influenced by ethnic, ancient and iconographic symbols of beauty and uniqueness. Inspired by the world around us, I work with an intuitive aesthetic, piecing together elements of color, texture, and shape. A combination of traditional, ethnic, vintage, and contemporary components, my jewelry appeals to those who enjoy self-expression through fine objects of adornment.
My style is sometimes fun and funky, occasionally earthy and warm, and always contemporary, classic and unique.
